- We received a call from CENTAF asking us what was going on,
then our Ops asked the same thing. Someone's not talking.

- On a good note, the weather is crystal clear and we are bring-
ing them to their knees.

- The ADVON team departed today, the rest are scheduled to depart
with equipment on a series of C-130's tomorrow. When they ar-
rived, they called back saying there was nothing up there, no
grounding points, no tents, no extinguishers, no defuel capabili-
ty, no lights, no nothing. And there are rocks and debris all
over the runway with dust on their sweepers. The A-10's already
there don't digest rocks and microscopic pebbles like the fight-
ing falcon. From a maintenance standpoint right now, this whole
thing will be a miracle if we can pull it off.

- Finally!!! We found ABDR on a/c 1377 carrying Rockeye's. It
looks like the tail band on the munitions flew up and hit the
stab.

FEB 3: DAY 18

- We were called by CENTAF and told that we would have 7 C-130's
leaving today for the FOL, and ll C-130's on the fourth. We are
front loading AMMO troops and crew dogs since they are expecting
to try this whole double turn tomorrow for the first time. Jam-
mers, bomb lifts, and other rolling stock were the first to
deploy. Due to the 17 departing in the middle of an extremely
heavy flying day (60 X 48) we are all chipping in and helping.
EMS is handling the majority of tow jobs, EOR, and anything else
they are trained in as far as flightline functions. We have also
ceased on phases although we have been given a 10% overfly au-
thorization by CENTAF. If I want to initiate a combat phase done
at 200 hours I will, but for now, everything stays out of phase.

- The first go, a 20 X 20 X 20 went off smoothly thanks to a
concerted effort loaded with Mk 20's and Mk 82's.

- CENTAF is being a little more defined. They have stated that
they would like to start the FOL at 48 sorties for the "first,
few days". Later, they would like to jump to 96 sorties. When
pressed about where the slack would come from out of the
schedule, they threw the ball back at us and said whatever we
wanted to work out with Ops. There is again a conflict of inter-
est here and we will probably be left looking like the bad guys
because maintenance may have to be the ones that say, "Whoa"!

- Still no word on munitions, whether we line haul or airlift to
the FOL.

- We coordinated with CE for rods and cable to create grounding
points for the jets. CENTAF supposedly has tents enroute to the
