Phase III Build
 
	Preparing for offensive operations meant redeploying the 4th 
TAC Hospital with its wing from Thumrait to Al Kharj in December. 
The 4th received a newly built ATH at Al Kharj (TAC built two 
ATHs during Desert Shield), and, since Thumrait was designated a 
MAC beddown, General Homer directed the unprecedented MAC 
sourced operation of the 1660 TAC Hospital there. A unit led by 
the Little Rock AFB Hospital and composed of active duty and ARC 
medical personnel from thirteen MAC medical units deployed to 
Thumrait on 19 December to operate the 25-bed hospital in a 
warehouse. 
 
	Three more ATHs were deployed prior to and during the early phases of the Air 
Campaign. The 401st TAC Hospital deployed Coronet Bandage II capability to Doha Qatar, 
joining its wing from Torrejon AB Spain on 11 Jan 91. We had always anticipated that HN 
hospital expatriot medical providers would leave Saudi Arabia during wartime. This happened 
at Tabuk and Khamis Mushait, precisely as predicted. Wing commanders at both locations 
immediately requested ATHs. The 832nd TAC Hospital deployed Coronet Bandage II capability to 
Tabuk and was operational on 24 January. Another newly built ATH was deployed to Khamis 
Mushait. Personnel from the 554th Medical Group were sourced by TAC to stand up Coronet 
Bandage I capability (37th TAC Hospital) there on 25 January. 
 
	Moreover, additional life saving and support equipment and supplies were ordered and 
received to assist hospital and aero
