bomb. He will make a mark, and from his mark we say, "Okay,
we see your bomb" then he will talk our eyes to the target
that he wants us to hit, based upon his mark. "Okay, look
south of my mark a mile. You will see a circular formation
of tanks in bunkers. That is your target. I would like for
One and Two to hit the eastern side; Three and Four hit the
western side."

The concept of us having the gas and the four bombs up here
and Pointer make us much more effective than we were before
we had the Pointer when we were flying out of here. That
will probably take us anywhere from takeoff to the target
area, which is 20 to 25 minutes. We will probably spend
another 10 minutes in the target area, occasionally 15, and
then it will take us another 20 to 25 minutes to get home.
The total sortie is, like I said, anywhere from about 55 to
70 minutes long.
S: What about defenses against the F-16s coming in; what have
You experienced?
E: From Day One they have gone down, obviously. I don't know
if you have seen pictures, but up in Baghdad there were
numerous SA-2s, SA-3s, a lot of AAA. The SAMs have gone
down. Now in the KTO [Kuwaiti Theater of Operations] very
