    (19) (U) Included washing equipment to be available to clean the
stretchers, preferably a hose with a nozzle.

    (20) (U) Changed pallet configuration. All sterile supplies could
be palletized separately to allow for every six month inspection and
re-sterilization without breaking down all the pallets.

    (21) (U3 Encouraged education. Professional medical readiness
courses such as C-4, C-4A, chemical casualty and nuclear casualty
courses should be encouraged or mandatory for all professional staff,
    especially those in career status.

    (22) (U) Certified personnel. All primary mobility personnel
should have status recertification, by interview every 3-6 months.

This would assure mobility personnel were truly ready to go in a real
emergency as we presently have. There were too many people relieved
of their mobility assignment for personal reasons for this
deployment. This caused many people unfamiliar with their new
mobility roles to take their places and scramble to catch up. The
people who were relieved of mobility assignments also should have
reported their problems to the commander for consideration at the
time they occurred. This would also have allowed new personnel to be
    trained for that position beforehand.

    (23) (U) Asked all department heads to review TA's and request
items deemed necessary, but not on TA.

    (24) (U) Set up ATH at home base prior to deployment, and actually
use it for active duty (including inpatient) care for a specified
period of time to familiarize staff and "work the bugs out".

    (25) (U) Brought minimum industrial hygiene equipment and operate
fully on a Bioenvironmental Engineering Shop. We are not capable of
    performing any industrial hygiene survey.

    (26) (U) Set up the ATH prior to deployment and functioned,
actually seeing and treating patients for several weeks.

    (27) (U) Not only inventoried the TA but update it to provide for
    adequate, contemporary equipment.

    (28) (U) Screened all USAF personnel scheduled for deployment to
ensure they were at least dental class II before deploying. Dental
Class III's should not have deployed at all.

    (29) (U) Assured proper training. All decon team members should
already be trained in all aspects of decon. All required equipment
and supplies should be on hand.

    (30) (U) Changed design. Three section tent should be used for
    decon tent instead of two.

    (31) (U) Increased training materials available.

    (32) (U) Added battery operated seamstress shears to TA.
