		ATC W orkload

Data on ATC workload is incomplete. Many SME's did not maintain data
once patient counts were reported to the ATH. ATM's did not report ATC
workIoads separately. Supported populations continued to grow throughout the
deployment. Some SME's may have counted immunizations or other services in
their patient visit totals while others did not.

		Findings
-USCENTAF/SG officially reported 132,682 outpatient visitn for the pieriod 13 Aug
90 to 31 May 91. The peak Air Force population supported was approrimately
		57,000.
-Highest demand for care theater-wide occurred during the air war:
			763 outpatient visits'day
			554/day during the ground war
			593/day during the pre-war buildup
128/day during the post war period
-The highest demand for care from the ATC data was the first two months of the
		deployTnent
-APcer the second month, patient loads remained relatively consistent throughout
		the Operations
-On the average, CENTAF numbers suggest 2.3 outpatient visits per person for
disease/non-battle injury over the course of the Operations, or approrimately 8
outpatient visits per day per thou~and persons
-When ATC's and ATM's were both present, about 14% of the outpatient visits
		were seen at the ATC:
--At Dhahran, 2,315 of 16,708 outpatient visits (14%) were seen at the ATC's.
(ATH arrived 4 days aP`er the SME).
--At Jeddah, 1,509 of 10,032 outpatient visits (15%) were seen at the ATC's.
(ATH arrived 16 days after the SME).
