October 1990 . 1 Oct The 188Oth Communications Squadron became a TAC Unit and joined the 37 TFW as the 37th Communications Squadron. 3 Oct Colonel Whitley initiated Sneaky Sultan I, a limited operational readiness exercise, to challenge the 37 TFW's response capability, 3 Oct His Royal Highness, Prince Sultan Abdul Aziz ibn Saud, Saudi Defense Minister, conferred with Colonel Whitley and viewed an F-ll7A static display. 18 Oct Colonel Whitley returned to the Tonopah Test Range to requalify in the F-ll7A.
