meals/day/person) and 10 days of MRE's (1 meal/day/person) to the

i. Laundry service remained mostly a contracted service. Sites
who connected the tactical field laundries (TFL) found them labor and
water intensive equipment. The Prime BEEF teams had difficulty
keeping them mechanically repaired. The WSK was inadequate because
spare parts such as switches, connectors and pulleys were not
available. Even when parts were ordered, we discovered that
replacements were difficult to obtain. Many sites stayed on contract
or locally purchased washers and dryers (A1 Minhad, A1 Dhafra, Taif,
Dhahran) to provide personal laundry services. Although sites had
laundry contracts many were manned by Prime RIBS for turn-in receipt
and/or QAE services.

which have broad applications and are repeated here for emphasis.
a. Field Kitchen Problems: Improve the zippers or replace the

fixed door ways. Improve ventilation and air circulation especially
in the kitchen. Improve the durability of canvas floors, Develop a
removable stainless steel screen for the bottom of sinks to help
reduce clogging and reduce residue in the grease traps. Develop a
portable/knockdown fiberglass trash container to consolidate trash
bags/debris. Develop a more complete WRSK including parts for
faucets r ice machines, refers, water pumps, hot water tanks' and tilt
grills. Replace tilt grills with a quality piece of equipment. Add
large capacity electric coffee makers' electric steam tables,
convection ovens and mixers/food processors. Develop a replacement
for the M-2 burner units which is safer and less difficult to
maintain. Improve lighting by replacing them with {florescent lights
similar to those used in air transportable hospitals. Include
emergency lights. Ensure T.O.s are packed with each kitchen.
