LOGISTICS ISSUE NO. 18 Redeployment: Screen for Foreign Plants

     BACKGROUND: Returning aircraft, equipment, and personnel supporting ODS were
     located not only in SW Asia, but also in Europe, the Atlantic and Pacific
     theaters, so a variety of foreign animal/plant disease/pests were of concern to
     US Department of Agriculture.
     
      DISCUSSION: A successful aircraft inspection/quarantine program is essential.
     
      RECOMMENDATION: Applicable commands must ensure they are prepared for large
      aircraft returning from overseas locations.
     
      ACTIONS REQUIRED: None. This is not a medical issue.
     
      ACTIONS COMPLETED: N/A.
     
      STATUS: Recommend closure.
