           BLOOD ISSUE NO. 7 Blood Donor Register

     BACKGROUND: Short-notice recruitment of blood donors can be a significant
     challenge to BDCs. Numerous methods are used at base level, including
     assignment of quotas to units, media solicitation, and others.
     .
     DISCUSSION: One base developed a separate roster for coding all potential
     donors, military and civilian, who indicated a willingness to volunteer. This
     facilitates rapid access to individuals. This information could be a vital
     asset in filling-short-notice taskings or filling specific group/type
     requirements.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve AF Form 1000 submitted under separate cover.
