                           AEROMEDICAL EVACUATION CATEGORY

         AE ISSUE NO. 1 Passports for Special Missions
         (SGHR ITEM NO. 50)

         DISCUSSION: Passports may be required for special missions to provide
         flexibility. Passports are not being maintained by the ARC.

         RECOMMENDATION: Clarify through proper channels, feasibility of maintaining
         passports.
         ACTIONS REQUIRED: Clarify feasibility and requirement for ARC AE personnel to
         maintain passports.

         ACTIONS COMPLETED: Actions have been taken to study this issue. Normal
         contingencies do not require personnel to maintain passports. Special
         missions may require them. A review is being accomplished to determine how
         many personnel already have official passports and whether there is a
         requirement for all AE personnel to have them.
