NBC Status Instructions
1. Each chemical company or battalion needs to report the
following the following for its decon, recon and/or smoke assets:
a. Determine:
(1) Personnel percentage - divide personnel on hand by
amount authorized for current ALO.
(2) @ipment percentage - divide mission essential
equipment on hand and operational by amount authorized.
(3) Materiel percentage - divide mission essential
materials (i.e. STB, DS-2, fog oil) by amount authorized.
b. Match percentages with color code provided below. Lowest
color code is company's overall NBC status. Forward this
information to higher headquarters (i.e. division to corps,
companies to bns). Provide reason if color code is less than
green.
Color Code Personnel - Ecruipment - Material
Green (fully mission capable) 90-100%
Amber (minor shortfalls) 70-89-t
Red (critical shortfalls) 50-69%
Black (non-mission capable) <49%
2. MSC chemical staffs will consolidate their reports and
subjectively determine a MSC color code status for its ability to
conduct NBC decon/recon and smoke. This color will then be
annotated in appropriate columns on next page and forwarded to
ARCENT Main NBC. Any status less than green will require a
comment in the remarks column. In addition, to the overall MSC
assessment, provide individual chemical company/Bn color ratings
which are less than green and the reason, ie. 23d Chem Co
Amber, short personnel.
