                MANAGEMENT AND SCHEDULE FOR IMPLEMENTATION:

The management aspects of preparing to implement this
.contingency plan are appropriate planning for availability of
chemicals, equipment required for application, manpower, and
necessary utilities or support. There is an opportunity to
use available equipment from existing stores (air-diffusers
and piping), existing operational and technical staff. from
MPW, and procurement staff for consumable supplies such as
ferric or ferrous chloride. It is roughly estimated that some
500 pounds of ferric chloride (PeC'3) would be required per
million gallon per day of flow.
The schedule of actions and decisions would be roughly as
                follows:

in the next 30 to 60 days: (June thru August)

                      1. Refine the estimates as chemical and logistic
requirements. 'Perform some- preliminary testing at a.
laboratory scale to determine dosages and necessary
residence times for the necessary reactions.

                      2. Determine lead times for necessary procurement
actions related to equipment and supplies.

                      3. Determine the need, or lack there of, for additional
                      engineering consultation.

                      4. scope and better define the sources of raw sewage,
flow rates, possible application points, size of lines,
                      and other facts.

                      5. Monitor progress and schedules for the restoration of -
                      the.pumping stations now by-passing.

                     .6. Preparea more refined plan'.

From 60 to 90 days: (September)

still be questionable as to whether restoration is going
to solve the problem of odor@. This will force a
decision as to investin!i in the contingency plan
procurement requirements. it can be assumed that most of
what is required to implement the plan can likely be used
                      in existing operation.
