           1. SITUATION:


                  a. Enemy Forces: Iraqi forces have capability of launching
           a preemptive aip and ground attack against U.S. Forces in Saudi
           Arabia.


                  b. Friendly Forces!

                       (1) VII Corps blocks Iraqi advance along Wadi Hafar
           Al Batin and MSR Sultan.              DECLASSIFIED

                       (2) Engineer   Forces:    BY: SEC ARMY (DAMH) UNDER SEC 3.4 EO 12958

                             (a) 8th  Engineer Battalion, 18t CAV DIV,
           location vicinity KKMC.

                             (b) 16th Engineer Battalion, lst AD, LAD in
           Saudi--approximately 27 JAN 91.

           2. MISSION: 7th Engineer Brigade provides countermobility and
           survivability support to VII Corps; On order, OPCON to 1ID (M)
           fop defense of Log Base Alpha.

           3, EXECUTION!


              -   a. Concept of Operation! 7th Engineer Brigade providez
           well coordinated combat support to Corps MSC's by providing units
           direct support to divisions and 2ACR. Units must be prepared to
           move as required on short notice to blocking positions along the
           Wadi Hafar Al Batin avenue of approach. In the defense of Log
           Base Alpha, engineers will be prepared to occupy security
           positions concurrent with countepiiiability and survivability
           operations. Priority of work is counterinobility, survivability
           and then mobility.

176 Engineer Group: Support the defense of Log Daze
           Alpha. On order, place 317th Engineer Battalion (DS) to lat CAV.

                  C. 926 Engineer Group: On order, attached (with all
           subordinate units) to 18t CAV for withdrawal fpoiii Log Base Echo.
           Be prepared to perform survivability and counterinobilty.
