                  30 March
                          Two soldiers from Division preventive medicine services, CPL Evertsen and SOT Coro]Jy,
                  inspected 4- I's latrines, water and NMT. The battalion passed inspection, and the MKT was
                  reported to be in excellent condition.

                  31 March
                          Medics reported the Wetbulb at CAT 4. All sports activities were suspended until the level
                  dropped and soldiers were instructed to unblouse pa@ts and drink plenty of water@

                  1 April
                          An OH-58D, aircraft 728, piloted by CW2 LiJleas and copiloted by COL Mowery, crashed
                  at grid PU5465, approximately eleven miles south of Jagaba airport. Neither of the pilots were
                  injured. LTC Wilkerson, MAJ Waters, and the Brigade safety officer flew to the crash site in UH-
                  60 aircraft 143.

                  2 April
                          ILT Strahl reported to MAJ Waters that all fuel tankers were aquaglo and APXG tested.

                  3 April
                          B Company callsign, Nighthawk 19, notified the TOC that a convoy of six vehicles
                  containing Bedouins would be passing though the battalion's sector heading north at approximately
                  1530 hrs..

                  4 April
                          4-1 requested engineer support to cover garbage pits and dig new ones for the companies
                  and the mess hall.

                  5 April
                          The quartering party, commanded by CPT Salter and CPT Surneiix, left AA Allen for AA
                  Iron at 0800 hrs. The quartering party consisted of elements from each company, the POL
                  platoon, 8-3, and the mess section. The party arrived at AA Iron at 1430 and set up the outline of
                  the battalion in preparation for the arrival of the rfiain party the following day.

                  6 April
                        2AD(FWD) was detached to 3AD. The main body for the Battalion moved north to AA
                  Iron (PU2191), and the 730th Medical Clearing platoon was attached to 4-1 Avn, bringing the
                  personnel count in the battalion to 406. The mess section provided a hot breakfast for both the
                  battalion and brigade's advance party, showing how prepared that section always stayed.

                  7 April
                          At 2230 hours CPT Surnerix was abducted by his fellow company commanders. He was
                  strapped inside his sleeping bag to his cot. Then the commanders carried CPT Sumerix to LTC
                  Wilkerson's tent and rudely awoke the battalion commander. LTC Wilkerson graciously helped
                  CPT Sumerix from his bonds. The company commanders then carried CPT Sumerix back to his
                  tent where p@ng brotherly comments were exchanged.

                  8 - 12 April
                          The battalion conducted tours of Ur. Ur is a 6,000 year old city located on the F-uphrates
                  River. Its history includes the birthplace of Abraham, the oldest known arch, and a ziggurat. The
                  trips to Ur departed 4-1 at 0830 and stopped at 4th Bde where C                           11 and CPT
                  Todd gave a brief talk on the history and archeology of Ur. The                         t 0845 for Ur.
                  Enroute to Ur the tour stopped to look at twenty nine Iraqi MIG                          e highway.
                  The trip to Ur took approximately one hour. Upon arriving, Iraqi children swarme around the
                  vehicles to receive food, water, or whatever the soldiers would give- them.
