       3. At log base Bastogne, MST 3 initiated food inspection programs at five DSUs
       (62 S&S, 2120 S&S, 227 S&S, 3rd ACR-18th Corps, and 590th S&S). Most of these
units have moved out and other units are mvang in, The New Host Nation Food
Warehouse has two new warehouse under construction and has not became operational
       at this-time.
       4. At Bastogne, refrigerated trucks were being operated by the 5 DrtUs. personnel
responsible for this operation were untrained for this task. In addition,
maintenance and repair of these refrigerated tricks was extremely difficult to
obtain. These refrigerated trucks were rented under contract from the Host Nation.
The mintenance for these facilities was also under contract from the Bost Nation.
Repair parts were often unavailable. Large scale probl@ were pr@bly not
encountered because the presen@ winter weather is relatively cool.
       5. Although the 422nd's primary mission is in support of F-AC units, we provide
services to both 7th and 18th Corps assts based on geographical needs.
       6. The headquarters element of the 422nd relocated from Al Khobar to KKMC on
17 Jan 1991, the first day of hostilities. Due to space and support constraints,
the headquarters did not co-locate with MSi's,1&2 at the 251 S&S Co. but are located
with the 803rd Med Group. An office is shared with preventive Medicine assets at
the 803rd Med Gp. Headquarters. Late in January a commercial telephone was installed
in our office. A tactical telephone is also available in the headquarters building.
These telephones.-are helping to allievate critical c@ication inadequacies.
