667 0930 The ground campaign has boon completed. The CORPS
is forward waiting for the word to begin the retrograde back
to their TAAS. The pace of operations has returned to its
pro-war mode. Due to this the computer log has been
reinstituted. The following information came out of the BMC
this morning:
-The units will return to the following TAAs during the
retrograde;-18 AVN= AO PALM, 12 AVN= AO SPRUCE, 24TH ID= AO
TEAK or another TAA that will be in the old VII CORPS area,
101st= AO PEAR, 525 MI= AO APPLE, 35 SIG= LOG BASE CHARLIE,
20 ENG= AO WILLOW, 3ACR= AO CACTUS, 1ST COSCOM= LOG BASE
CHARLIE, CORPS ARTY= AOs PINE AND TEAK, 360TH CA= LOG BASE
CHARLIE, MPS= LOG BASE CHARLIE, 6TH FRENCH= AO OLIVE.
- The RCP Will probably control the movements.
- The estimate is that it will take 5-8 days for the
CORPS to return to its TAAS. The withdraw to RhAs will
not begin until the retrograde has been completed.
- 101st is currently moving from OBJ TIM to FOB COBRA.
- The plan is for ist Cav Div to be returned to XVIII
control for RAA and redeployment
- A theatre MSR will be established in VII CORPS AO.
This is the MSR that XVIII calls NSR Packard. This MSR
will be used to reposition the 24th ID to the South and
XVIII will have priority on the MSR when it is moving.
668 1030 CALLED LTC BURGDORF FOR AN UPDATE:
A. WANTED TO KNOW IF THE CORPS HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH THE
ARCENT MSG 03203OZ MAR 91 SUBJ IMMED REDPLOYMENT OF UNITS.
THEY ARE TRYING TO GENERATE A SPECIAL REDEPLOYMENT BACK TO
THE STATES WITHIN THE NEXT 48-72 HOURS. CORPS ALLOCATION IS
24 - 900, 101 - 900, 82 - 900, 3ACR - 300 AND 1400 FOR COSCOM
AND CORPS ARTY. CURRENT OPS IS WORKING.
B. IS TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW SOON THE CORPS WILL FEEL
COMFORTABLE IN RELEASING THE FRENCH FROM THEIR SCREENING MSN
BACK TO ARCENT.
C. WANTED TO KNOW IF THE CORPS GOT THE MESSAGE ON
DESTRUCTION AND RETROGRADE OF ENEMY EQUIP. YES USED IT AS A
REFERENCE IN CORPS MSG TO THE FIELD.
D. THE G-4 NEEDS TO PROVIDE THE NUMBER OF TANK AND BRADLEY
AMMO EXPENDED IN ADDITION TO OTHER PREFERRED EXPENDITURES.
G-4 KNOWS ABOUT THE REQUIREMENT.
E. CORPS HAS SAID IT WILL TAKE 7-21 DAYS IN THE TAA TO ACCT
FOR AND PULL MAINT ON EQUIP PRIOR TO MOVING TO THE RAA. LTC
B IS TRYING TO GET THE CORPS TO TIME LINE THEIR MOVEMENT FROM
TAA TO RAA.
F. ARCENT IS PUTTING TOGETHER FLASH TRAFFIC ON INSTRUCTIONS
BASED ON THE NEGOTIATIONS YESTERDAY.
G. THE ARCENT HISTORIAN, COL SWAIN, IS GOING TO SEND A MSG
TO COL AKERS REQUESTING THAT THE CORPS HISTORIAN PROVIDE A
VERBAL/WRITTEN RESPONSE TO TWO MSG, 191800 JAN AND 241600
FEB. COMMAND RPTS ARE DUE THIRTY DAYS AFTER OPS ARE
