       c. Unit field sanitation teams will be formed and trained as directed in AR 40-

   5. Those teams will supervise construction and maintenance of latrines, mageog, and
   other field structures IAW AR 40-5 and FM 21-20. Field sanitation teams will inspect
   their unit areas daily and recommend corrective measures to unit commanders.
   Problems beyond the capability of the unit to correct will be brought to the
   attention of the Preventive Medicine Officer and/or the Division Surgeon.

   9. DENTAL SERVICES.

       a. Interceptive dental treatment will be provided by dental officers at each
   clearing station on an area basis. Routine dental care and support for the division
   is provided by field Army uiiiig during noncombat periods.

       b. Patients requiring dental care beyond the limits of the Division are
   evacuated through normal medical channels.

       c. Programs of preventive dentistry and dental health education will be provided
   for supported units when the tactical situation permits.

       OPTOMETRY SERVICES.

       a. Optometry service is provided by the 724th Main Support Battalion in the
   @ivigion support area. This service Includes routine eye examinations and
     fraction, prescription single vision lens fabrication, and repair services, for
   units organic or attached to the division.

       b. Broken frames or lenses may be sent through medical channels to the optometrv
   section of the Main Support Battalion for repair. If no prescription Is available,
   the major portion of broken lens will accompany the request.

   11. MEDICAL SUPPLY.

       a. In noncombat  conditions, medical supplies are obtained in response to formal
   request (DA Form 2756-1) submitted to the Division Medical Supply Officer (DMSO). In
   combat, medical supplies are obtained informally and as rapidly as possible through
   medical channels. Normally, informal requests may also be transmitted by use of
admin/log netg, or by land line telephone, when available.

       b. Unit aid stations will requisition medical supplies from the supporting
   clearing station. Normally, the clearing station filla the requisition# from the
   prescribed leads of medical stocks on hand and forwards the supplies by the most
   expedient means available. Unfilled requisites and requisitions to replenish
   clearing station stocks are forwarded to the DMSO.

       c. The DISCOM maintains a prescribed load of medical supplies in a mobile supply
   point for use In emergencies or when delays are experienced in shipments to the
   division. Requisitions from supported units are filled from these stocks.
