    3-  Concept.

        a@    Horizontal and vertical information    flow is key to our
    success in providing complete, accurate, and @li,@]Ly casualty reports
    to HODA Casualty Office and Fort Eragg during C@@-eration DESERT
    THIEL-D. Casualty reporting must originate with the most
    knowledgeable individual man knows @. aL casualty and forward the
    information through command channels to the Corps Casualty Office


        b.    Casualty Liaison Teeins (C7L-i) will be assigned to theater
    evacuation aerial ports, mobile Army surgical and combat support
    hospitals., mobile air staging facilities, and graves registration
    collection paints to get information an casualties. Information
    collected by tie CLT is given to the CCO to supplement uii-t casualty
    reports and expedite casualty reporting to HUDA- CCE) will flow
    casualty information down the reporting chain to help units acr-ount
    +or soldiers.


    4- Procedures.


        a. Casualty reports will flow as depicted in Figure 1, page
               XVIII Airborne Corps FSOP. The C)CO is located in the
    Corps Personnel Operations Center (r-P(3r-) and will act as the
    singl@sourr-a for casua.11@ reporting and requests for information
    from echelons above r-urps and outside agencies.

        b. Division SI/ABs and -@pecial Operations Comnand AS will
alty feeder- cards (D@.A Form li@56) and witness statements
    (DA Form 1155) from assigned units and  'submit abbreviated casualty
    reports a=- depicted in Anne% X, page              XVIII Airborne Corps
    FSOP. TAECS generated casualty messages -@h@ruld be used to expedite
    reporting. As a minimum, the following                 is required:
    Nleme, Rank, SSM, Unit, DMO@@, Cause and Circumstances. I+ applicable,
    provide the extent @ injuries and hospital location if known-
