          MEMORANDUM FOR XVIII AIRBORNE CORPS STAFF AND ALL NON-DIVISIONAL
                           UNITS


          SUBJECT: Movement of Distribution During Operation DESERT
          SHIELD


          1. PURPOSE: To inform the XVIII Corps Staff and non-divigional
          unit commanders of distribution procedures to the Corps (Rear)
          for Operation DESERT SHI-ELD.

          2. GENERAL:.
              a. the Corpp Adjutant General (Rear) has  .Cr8tabli8hed and
          will operate a courier distribution system to and from the area
          of operation and the rear during Operation DESERT SHIELD. The
          courier will use available aircraft as coordinated by the AG,
          ACofS, G4, and G3 in the rear.

              b. The flow of official and personal mail to and from the
          area of operation will continue to be the responsibility of the
          USPS/APO system. The 129th Postal Detachment has the
          responsibility for mail within the area of operation.

          3. CONCEPT OF OPERATION:


              a. Distribution is defined as official flat correspondence,
          staff actions, messages, forms, reports, etc., which need to be
          transported to and from the area of operation.

              b. Courier Process:


                    (1) Distribution for the Corps (Rear/Fort Bragg) will
          be delivered to the Adjutant General located in the GI/G4
          complex of Dragon City.

                    (2) Marking and wrapping instructions:

                         (a) Classified material will be double-wrapped,
          addressed as if for mailing, sealed, and free of metal bindings.

                         (b) Unclassified material will be placed in
