   SUBJECT,. NWR Bulletin #1


   1. General. MWR bulletins will be published on an as needed basis to
   update @IWR/Soldier- services available to the Corps.  Bulletin #1
   encapsulates current/pl@inned MWR/Soldier Support.

       Specifics.

           Live Entertainment. It is anticipated that DOD Touring shows will
   be made available to this theater in the near term (6C)-OO days). Loca'.L
   shows will continue to be encouraged and planning information will be
   provided as it becomes available to this headqLtai-ter5,. POC, Corps GI.

       b.  Funds@for LocEkl Procurement.-. Funds,@e_av@tilabl.e +or locally

                    .qLtipfnent-, TVs, movie proj@ctors-etc. Procurement will
   be accomplished through Lt4;it contracting/ordering officers. Prior to
   purchase, the requesting unit must submit a completed DA Form 3953 through
   the Corps GI to the ARCENT Contracting POC, MAJ Wand, 9-7699-443, and
   ARCENT MWR POC, CPT Luchsinger, 9-7699-150 .

       C. AAFES. Currently units can establish troop PXs using the imprest
   -fund (resale) system available through the Base E@@change located at
   Dhahran airport.  Tactical Field Etchariges (TFE) should be ivailable
   within the ne,,,t 30 days. Training Support for unit personnel to run Ti@Es
   4s exp@ted to be ivailable in country NLT I Oct 90. POC is Mr Bitby,
   commercial: 879-2231, ex,t 7280/7281.

       d. Movies. Types of support available:

          1) 16mm - 10 projectors are scheduled to arrive mid September.
   When systems are.available, unit rotation plan will be established.

          2) VHS Cassettes - 50 VHS tapes are scheduled to arrive mid
   September. Units must provide TV and VHS machines. Tape rotation will be
blished when tapes become available in country. POC is Corps 61.

       e. Reading Material.

          a. Boo[, Kits - Procured through ARCENT. Distributed by Corps GI
   and picked up by the units.

          ,b. U.S. Businessmen donations. Distributed by Corps GI and picked
   up by the units. Projected   availability is within the nL-,@t 2 weeks.
