12 000 to 14 000 feet. The Marrat structure runs north-south and parallels the
Kuwaiti coast. This structure has an average formation pressure of 15 000 psi
and yields sour crudes (crudes that contain hydrogen sulfide CH2S]) with a very
high associated hydrogen sulfide gas content (from 2%wt. up to reports y
S%wt.). The deep high-pressure wells In the Al Manaqish and U=n Qudayr fields
are the nost dangerous.. with up to 2%wt. hydrogen sulfide (10 000 to 20 000 ppm
of dissociated hydrogen sulfide gas (note: 400 to 600 opm is lethall). In addi-
tion, deep wells with similar hydrogen sulfide content tap the Marrat structure
in the Al Burgan and Al Haqwa fields.
