            TAB B (UNIT UPDATE REPORT) TO APPENDIX 2 (OPERATIONS REPORTS) TO
            ANNEX X (REPORTS) TO XVIII AIRBORNE CORPS FIELD SOP


            1. The purpose of this report is to provide the Corps Commander
            with information concerning the combat readiness and unit
            locations of subordinate units.

            2. Each Major Subordinate Command (MSC) will report the
            Relative Combat Power for each of its MSCS, based on its ability
            to accomplish its mission. The Msc will also provide an overall
            rating on each category.

                a. The report will be submitted IAW the following code for
            each MSC's major subordinate commands in each of the categories
            shown below:


                     (1) Green: 100% - 80%.

                     (2) Amber: 79% - 60%.

                     (3) Red: 59% - 40%.

                     (4) Black: 39% - 0%.

                b. Format (MSC's should modify ist Line as required).

               C. Guidelines for evaluated categories.

                     (1) Evaluation of mobility should take into
            consideration present troop dispositions as well as
            transportation assets and Class III available to accomplish
            mission.

                     (2) Communications considerations should include number
            of operational systems and the capability of the systems to
            support the command and control requirements of the unit.
                     (3) Weapons evaluation should consider combat power in
            terms of availability of Class V and weapons systems that are
            key to mission accomplishment.
