1st Battalion, 12th Marines' First Arty Raid

        3/3's first participation in offensive action was
providing security for 1/12, an artillery battalion that conducted
an artillery raid against enemy positions in Kuwait.   C)ulte tense
and excited in Combat Qperatipns Center we listened to 1/12
-prepare to strike a blow against the Iraqis0

     fire at will.1" We were a-il on the edge of our seats with
     anticipation when a radio operator burst into the tent and
     exclaimed:  "The Giants beat the Bills in the Superbowi.'"
