    lstLt Rusty Koontz, 3d Marines frbtor Transport Officer, was
supporting the movement of Iraqi EPW's rrom the vicinity of Al
~aber to the E~W holding compound north of the second obstacle
belt with 14 trucks from his platoon.    While walking past a group
of Iraqi E~v~I'5, he heard an Iraqi ~~: ask, "Hey, do you speak
English?"   lstLt Koontz was a little taken aback, but said that he
did speak English.   The Iraqi EP~V then went on to say.that "MY
name is Fred.   I am from L.A..   I'm not supposed to be h~e.1" As
istLt Koontz continued to talk to the Iraqi, he ~earned that the
man had returned to Iraq to visit his. fami ly, had his visa pulled,
was conscripted,  and was made a company cmmander.    lstLt Koontz
asked if any of.the other Iraqi's in the company spoke English.
The Iraqi answered that he had taught then only one phrase which
they all had rnastered.   That was "Saddam Sucks.1"
