continued to be plagued by slow delivery -times, but distribution once it
reached the 2nd FSSG Post Office at Al Kibrit was fast and efficient. Until
the start of the ground offensive, battalion mail personnel, led by Sgt
HARRELL and LCpl MILLER were always able to effect an overnight sort and
                delivery rate.
During this period, the battalion S-1 shop conducted extensive casualty
administration and reporting drills in conjunction with the medical and
logistics section. Once the Bth Ta 'nk Battalion was attached to Gth Marine
Regiment, all personnel reporting was conducted through the regimental S-1.
Once the ground war began, the battalion S-1 established a casualty and
personnel reporting section under his control with the battalion field train
and a casualty clerk at the battalion aid station. This facilitated reporting
while on the move and allowed the S-1 to continuously monitor and report the
                command's personnel status.
                                                 I Mar 31 Mar 1991
Although the battalion spent the month in Kuwait, the administrative focus
was on preparing for the battalion's eventual redeployment to Camp Lejeuno and
.demobilization. On March 1991, the battalion was detached from 6th Marine
Regiment and returned to separate battalion status under the 2d Marine
Division. By this time, almost all pay and diary discrepancies had worked
their way out of the system due to the ongoing efforts of the diary personnel,
led by Corporal 1. R. WRIGHT and the Admin Chief, GySgt H. F. ADAMS. Once the
oved.
Extensive effort was made by the battalion to complete the majority of
administrative requirements before retrograding to Camp 15 at Al Jubail. This
included preparing medal and awards recommendations, after action reports,
updating and auditing personnel records and preparing manifests and documents
                for redeployment and demobilization.

                                                    Legal Action

The following legal proceedings were held at the battalion level:
                         Special Courts Martial: 0
                         Summary Courts Martial: a
