CAPT JOHNSON: We are working, but it's effecting things.

COL HASTINGS: In fact, since we submitted that P-For, they have
instituted newer controls which make it even tighter - become
more difficult - not even the same.

GEN BOOMER: So CENTCOM allegedly improved their process, but on
   the Saudi side --

COL LIST: Correct, sir. Also we believe we can get -- if we
could get access to GOJ funds, we would get materials faster; but
down in the working level they are deciding which projects go to
GOJ and which goes to the Saudis, and ours seem to go to the
   Saudis all the time.

CAPT JOHNSON: The biggest example, the CINCIs time lines. The
Saudis have 15 days to get us materials. That's a life time. if
we would have waited for materials from the 3d MAW headquarters,
it would be five percent complete. We are still waiting and it's
55 percent complete, and they are doing some unusual things to
make that happen. We will work with the 4, but it's impacting
operations. I'll leave an information paper with the Chief.

The last thing, the MEF Seabees wish all the MEF Marines
   a Merry Christmas.

   GEN BOOMER: Thank you.

COL BROCK: Just a reminder to everybody, chow goes 1600 to 1800
tonight. No lunch today or tomorrow; and the talent show and
   concert go at 1800.

COL HASTINGS: Different places in the same compound.

COL BROCK: The soccer field and the Tea Garden.

COL SHOTWELL: Morning, sir. We had a couple Marines on the
David Brinkley program yesterday, a sergeant from Division and
staff sergeant from FSSG. They both did very well. The staff
sergeant particularly did us proud. We had a call about a week
ago to provide the name of two Marines to be nominated to be
called by the President over the Christmas Eave or Christmas day.
   We got those names --

GEN BOOMER: Who did you submit, John Shotwell?

COL SHOTWELL: We submitted a sergeant from Division and sergeant
from FSSG. Got a call from ACMC's office Friday, asking to have
both those people standing by tonight for the call. They could
not tell us at that time which sergeant was going to get the call
or what time it was going to come through. We will try to get
   more information.

GEN BOOMER: This is really a great deal.

COL SHOTWELL: Finally, sir, we have lots of news media going to
