          Law enforcement and intelligence agencies report they have detected more than 700 cases in which
       firms and individuals worldwide have attempted to sell munitions and other goods to Iraq, including at
       lease 20 cases in the U.S. since August. (Los Angeles Times, January 30, p. 1.)

          Senior intelligence sources report Iraqi air force chiefs were allegedly executed last week may have
       been involved in an attempted coup against President Saddam Hussein. It is believed the coup attempt
