Aircrew stress has a primary concern due to the sustained, in-
tense operations of the EF-lllA in Operation Desert Storm. De-
spite the operational demands, however, most of the aircrews 
successfully dealt with the stress without any significant, long-
term problems. Of particular interest was the use of contact 
lenses by aircrews for the first time in wartime. As mentioned 
this program was quite successful. 
 
Overall, the deployment and employment of the 390 ECS Squadron 
Medical Element in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm was 
quite successful.
