Normally we would send people home and get them some bed
rest in those situations, but people had some adrenalin
going, and it would keep the mission moving.
We had transportation difficulties in terms of vehicles. We
often had to do the job without the correct number of
vehicles. Transportation folks did get us some vehicles.
They would get them from Riyadh; they would get them from
every old place. Eventually we did get the number of
vehicles that we required to do the job. We started off
with maybe 10 vehicles. We ended up with about 40 or 50
over a 30-day period. I think those are pretty good
numbers.
We had two separate SRCs [Survival Recovery Center]; one in
the Tent City, which was about 10 kilometers away, and one
down on the flight line. Just for reference, the one in
Tent City was called Eagle's Nest, and the one at the
airfield was called Power House.
