Theater Blood Transshipment Centers (BTC)

Initially, two blood transshipment centers (BTC) were estab

Dhahran under the supervision of the 1st TAC Hospital. This

and communications problems. Staff supervising these assets did
a herculean job to establish this theater capability for the

the 56 TAC Hospital. Her operational effectiveness in blood
transshipment was put to a real test when she was tasked later to
redeploy and set up a third BTC at King Khalid Military City (KKMC)
in support of army operations there.
