S: Do you have any scheduling conflicts with the chow ball or
shower times or anything like that?
E: It is difficult for them. I don't know because we haven't
been here all that long. I haven't been here all that long,
but I understand that the times for finance to be open is
relatively limited, so our guys are up--no kidding--we've
got people out here at 6:00 in the morning, and they don't
get home until 7:00 at night. It is just very difficult.
We are trying to work something out so that finance can come
out here to the flight line. Our guys just simply don't
have any other time, so when they get home, most of the
things are closed. All they want to do is eat and grab a
shower and go to bed. They get up at 5:00 in the morning
and do the same thing 7 days a week, so it is tough for them
to get any MAP activities, any real relaxation, any little
necessities like doing laundry and things like that, but
that's not unique to the F-16. That's a KKMC-wide fact of
life.
S: Now a little bit on the down side. Have you had casualties
with the F-16 community flying out of this FOL?
E: Yes and no. We have had no combat losses 1n the wing at
all. Just last night one of the last eight ships to take
off out of here, one of the guys, and it is still too early
to tell, but very close to home down in Al Dhafra, ended up
crashing and did not get out. What caused that, it is just
too early to tell; we just don't know, but 1t was not a
combat related loss.
S: It is not related to this FOL operations?
E: It is not KKMC related.
