                                   CIVIL ENGINEERING
          
           1. OPR:    [(b)(2) .
            
            2. Name of Contingency: Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
            
            3. Key Words: Protective Clothing.
            
            4. Title: Lack of Chemical Ensembles.
            
            5. Observation: No under overall flyer's chemical protective
            ensembles were provided for fire fighters.
            
            6. Discussion: Base Supply failed to provide firefighters with
            the proper chemical protection prior to deployment.
           
           7. Lessons Learned: The under  overall flyer's chemical protective
           ensembles must be provided for fire fighters prior to deployment
           to high threat chemical areas.
           
           8.  Recommendation:  HQ   AF must come on line and require the
           flyer's chemical protective ensemble be supplied to all AF Fire
           Protection organizations.  Base Supply must place a high priority
           to obtain these ensembles.  Initial issue must be made at the
           home base and replacement issue must be on hand at the deployed
