                                                       				 INSTRUCTOR

           G.   Inject the casualty by applying firm even pressure to the injector
           until the injector activates and pushes the needle through the
           casualty's clothing into the injection site. Hold the injector in
            place for at least 10 seconds You should be able to feel the      -
           autoinjector activate.

                                     WARNING

                       DO NOT use a jabbing motion when injecting.
                       It may result in injury to the casualty.

           H. Carefully pull the injector straight out from the injection site.
           Massage the injection site if time permits.

           I. Attach the used CANA injector to the casualty's pocket flap that
           has the used Mark I autoinjectors attached.

              1. Push the needle into the casualty's pocket flap.

              2. Bend the needle to form a hook.
 
           SEE FICURE 3.

           J. Get medical help.

           II. ADMINISTER ADDITIONAL CANA

           The casualty may need more than one CANA injection; but ONLY THE COMBAT
           LIFESAVER AND COMBAT MEDIC have additional CANA autoinjectors.

           The casualty may be given a second and/or third injection before
          evacuation by a Combat Lifesaver or a Combat Medic.

          NOTE TO TRAINER: Following are steps for administering additional
          CANA by Combat Lifesavers and Combat Medics.

                                     DANGER

                    DO NOT USE YOUR OWN CANA ON THE CASUALTY.

          A. Administer the second CAHA injection. If a casualty has been given
one CANA injection and continues to convulse about 10 minutes after the injection-
