During my stay, there was a total of 77 personnel as-
ssigned to the 306SW deployed location at Al-Dhafra. Eight
aircrews, 32 maintenance personnel, six security police person-
nel, three supply personnel, and four staff personnel.
While at Al-Dhafra I began to establish friendships
with the local aier force personnel who treated me as an honored
guest. From the individual at the base gas station to the base
commander, all were very friendly as long as you respect them.
In the two weeks I was at Al-Dhafra, I gain an apprecia-
tion for the hard work and dedication of the maintenance person-
nel who worked on the aircraft, the aircrews who flew the
aircraft, and the numerous support personnel who made tent city
work an Al-Dhafra operate. Their combined efforts made the opera-
tions at Al-Dhafra a show place in the Southwest Asia Theater of
Operations.
