         MEMO FOR THE RECORD 23 Jan 91
 
         SUBJECT: Suspected Foodborne Illness, 1701 PAREFW
         TO: Brig Gen Caruana 
         
         1. As of 1600 on 25 Jan 91, 608 cases of gastroenteritis were
         reported by the hospital supporting the 1701 PAREFW. Fifty-three
         patients have been admitted (plus 1 for the day). The number of
         DNIFs increased from 6 to 7. Culture results are expected
         tomorrow.
         
         2. There is concern that relocation of personnel from the Haj
         Terminal before new billeting and feeding facilities are ready
         could result in another disease outbreak.
