AFSC, TITLE: 6216, Services Staff Officer 4. UNIT MISSION: Support COMUSCENTAF with Engineering and Services activities for the 11000 deployed combat forces located at 22 sites within the CENTAF AOR. 5. JOB TITLE, JOB DESCRIPTION: Assistant DCS/Engineering and Services. Supports the DCS and acts in his absence regarding CENTAF Engineering and Services. 6. E&S Accomplishments: he USCENTAF/DE staff finalized efforts to build sustainability into sites operations. Emphasis was placed on site hardening, attack response actions, and base recovery. During this period the SECDEF announced there would be no troop rotations. Further he announced a build-up of forces under Phase II deployments which involved the addition of 17000 more USAF people and over 300 aircrafts to the AOR. Two new sites were identified, King Khalid Military City (KMC) and A1 Kharj AB as new CENTAF operating locations. As a result, the CENTAF/DE staff worked requirement for additional manpower and Harvest Falcon assets to beddown these forces. At other sites, additional aircraft squadrons ere added along with increased combat support efforts. Specific events of this reporting period follows: a. Disappointed with the progress at A1 Ayn in setting up their 9-1 field kitchen. Little Support was evident from the Wing Commander or the Prime RIBS Chief to wean themselves off the contract food service support. After months of excuses and promises the field kitchen became operational at approximately C+120. b. The CENTAF Mortuary Plan was finalized and distributed to the sites (see previous 10 day report). Temporary burial procedures and handling of contaminated remains were resolved. c. Thanksgiving holiday decorations arrived in the AOR on 7 Nov 90. Through the excellent support from the TAC/BS who procured them, we shipped packages to sites to help morale during the start of the Fall holiday season. d. King Fahd decided not to connect their tactical field laundries (TFL's]. Prime RIBS were quite satisfied with the laundry contract. Regardless, the Prime RIBS folks are supporting our request to test the UNIMAC laundry system when they arrive. e. Accomplished a manpower drill to identify manning required should a rotation policy be approved. Most sites have done a commendable job of identifying required E&S manpower. f. Identified and requested the TAC/BS purchase of an additional 15 Ice machines and 35 table mixers for the AOR field kitchens. We also identified requirements for Christmas decorations and provided a signed copy of the USCENTAF/CC holiday greeting for printing. Ice machines arrived in the AOR in early December 1990.
