This was the only USAF transport aircraft accident to occur during Desert Shield. (U) To ensure a normal supply of oil during the gulf crisis, OPEC authorized member nations to increase production. (U) USCINCEUR General Calvin offered CINCCENT General Schwarzkopf USEUCOM's full logistical support, including use of C-130s outside the established strategic logistics airlift.
