4. Attainment of Exercise Objectives. The 5th TAC ASF was able to deploy, establish an operational 200 bed Aeromedical Staging
Facility, perform fifteen strategic aeromedical evacuation
missions and provide short term medical care for 452 patients
before hostile actions ceased. The 5th TAC ASF performed its
mission flawlessly and with outstanding professionalism.

7. Professional Intelligence. During the period of Operation.
Deserts Shield/Storm (15 January to 7 March 1991) Saudi Arabia
was in its winter months. The climate though mild in comparison
to most more Northerly climate was, at times, quite harsh
particularly when Northern winds blew at speeds in excess of 40
miIes per hour and created great clouds of sand. Temperatures
varied between 35 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit and winds.from 0 to
45-50 mph. Most days and nights were partly sunny with some
light rain on about six or seven days.
