ITEM NO. 11 ARPC MOBILIZED NURSES IN DUTY AFSC-NOT QUALIFIED
(SGHR ITEM NO.4)
      
BACKGROUND: ARPC mobilized personnel In their duty AFSC.
      
DISCUSSION: ARPC mobilized admin. nurses (9716) 1n their duty AFSC (9756 -
clinical Nurse). Some of these senior nurses were not proficient in clinical
skills. Created a situation of receiving senior nurses with management
training when the need was for nurses with clinical experience.
      
RECOMMENDATION: ARPC requires that all IMAs receive training in both theta
duty AFSC and their primary AFSC.
      
ACTIONS REQUIRED: Ensure that nursing personnel remain current In their duty
AFSC per existing guidance.
      
actions COMPLETED: AF/REM Is working this Issue. ARC nursing personnel will
be required to remain current In their Duty AFSC (I.e. AFSC 9716) and also
remain proficient In their ability to work In AFSC 9756. Personnel unable to
meet this requirement will not be retained In the program.
