       ITEM NO. 12 REQUIREMENT TO TRANSPORT OJT RECORDS

       (SGHR ITEM NO. 24)
       
       BACKGROUND: Transport of OJT records to the employment site is required for
       TDYs in excess of 30 days. Transport of CDCs is optional.
       
       DISCUSSION: Numerous recommendations to eliminate this requirement have been
       received by this office. The recommendations are based on the following
       rationale: (1) OJT records are not required. Formal OJT not high priority in
       contingency operations. (2) OJT records easily lost, presenting problems.
       
       ACTIONS REQUIRED: Identify to AF/LGX recommendation to delete requirement for
       deployment of OJT records.
       
       ACTIONS COMPLETED: Issue identified to AF/LGX. No determination has been
       made to change the policy at this time. A Process Action Team is being
       considered to study the pros and cone and make a final recommendation.
       Continue to monitor status.
       
       STATUS: OPEN (pending results of PAI)
