3. Keep the collection system flowing to the major pump
stations, or first by-pass opportunity.
4. Repair primary pump stations (the "An series).

treatment plants emphasizing the following:
a. Primary treatment.
b. Secondary treatment.
c. Tertiary treatment.
6.- The effluent reuse system as irrigation and perhaps-
the use of secondary effluent for fighting oil flres.

'THE FOLLOWING IS A DISCUSSION OF OBJECTIVES RELATING TO
THE WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM:
It is important to monitor the capability; of the
conveyance system based on day-to-day occurrences with respect
to repair status and flow capabilities. eg., higher priority
items may not be repaired on schedule due to unavailability of
repair parts, labor force -problems, line blockage, pipe
breakage, or other extenuating circumstances. (This is being
done by OXI to some extent.) This will effect the planning and
cause realignment of the repair schedule. First Priority
should be given to repairing secondary-pump stations and screw
lift stations which do not have gravity by-passes. The second
priority should be given to repairing gravity lines (usually
by cleaning sand or other obstructions from the pipes or
manholes). These two priorities are of almost equal
importance and should be worked simultaneously. if the sewage
is not flowing down the gravity lines and through the screw
lift stations and the minor pump stations, continued blockages
will occur. The pipelines are somewhat self-cleaning if
sufficient flow is present. These are the f irst steps to
transporting the sewage away from the living areas which is
critical -to public health and odor control in residential
areas.
OMI analysis of the @re-war d@ography provides some
attention to the necessary consideration of population on the
