Cdr's Comments: Require additional smoke grenades to mark positions +or CAS
missions. All 19D's (non deployables excluded) at Fort Bragg need to be
shipped to Saudi Arabia ASAP. All new 19D's must go through the school of the
Sheridan and TTS transition prior to being a fully integrated Tank Crew.
I Dec 90 is a good target date +or receiving all 19D's left at Fort Bragg.
Request Jumpmaster School be conducted in Saudi Arabia. Without this training
the Battalion will experience a severe shortage of Jumpmasters upon
redeployment. Require all Readiness Platoon personnel and equipment, Mortar
Platoon personnel and equipment, and soldiers of all MOSs not on the rear
rabia by 1 Dec 90 for bringing battalion
to its full TO&E strength for combat. Unit will conduct Division Safety Day
tomorrow with emphasis on Suicide Prevention/Stress Management, LZ
Selection/Procedures, Refueling Operations, Desert/Safe Driving Techniques,
Fire Prevention, Environmental Safety, Airborne Safety, and Weapcns Safety.
100% on Sensitive Items as of 152300C Nov 90.

            82D SIG: Submitted: 15 Nov 90

Cdr's Comments: Safety Day will begin with a battalion run. Following the
run, I will give a safety briefing. Training for the day starts with classes
given by the SFCCE on Desert Survival; water discipline; poisonous
plants/animals and immediate actions for each. At 1040, we will hold -.-he
finals of our Drivers Rodeo. After lunch, each company will conduct sustained
airborne training. At 1315, Company Commander's safety talks. This will
            culminate the Battalion's Safety Week.
100% on Sensitive Items as of 152300C Nov 90.
