           Cdr's Comments: My primary focus now is on the Division COMMEX. Desert Oasis III
           will validate the reminder of the multichannel system for OPLAN 18-70. My signal
           maintenance warrant officer has succeeded in assembling a functional satellite
           receiver system. The satellite broadcasting CNN was acquired at 1700C and we have a
           clear picture.   Tomorrow we will move the system to Division PeadqLtarters and begin
           installation of the cable distribution system.

           Cdr's Comments: Preparing for projects at ALI and KHALID Range, to include DIVARTY
           fire base and 3-73 TTS Range. This includes an Engineer Assault Course at KHALID
           Range. Did initial coordination today with 46th EN BN which will be assisting in
           the construction of 3d BdL-'s LSA. Key leaders from the battalion in Jumpmaster
           Refresher today and tomorrow.

           Cdr's Comments: We continued to be critically short of Arabic linguists. This
           problem has been evident for several weeks but is more of a problem now owing to
           return of 311th and 519th MI Bn linguists. At this point in time, we have 21
           linguists an hand. We need over 50 to be able to accomplish our mission with high
           standards.
