           MEMORANDUM FROM THE SECRETARY OF THE CE14ERAL STAFF

           MEMORANDUM FOR SEE DISTRIBUTION

           SUBJECT: MINUTES OF 2000, 28 NOV, COMMAND AND STAFF BRIEFING


           1. The 28 Nov Command and Staff Briefing convened at 2000
           hours. All MSC'S, Separate Bns, primary staff and battle
           staff were represented.
               The meeting was obal-red I;,by. the Commanding Gen@ral.

           3. Major points of interest were:

                  G3  - 3d ACR - Conducting Regt - Mass Casualty Exercise

                      - Will begin Joint Training with 8th SANG BDE

                      - Will host MG's McVey and GraiLrud

                      - 24th ID (M) - Continues unit level training at
                        the platoon company level.

                  G2 -  IRAOI's initiating a call up of reserves for 15
                        Dec. Ages of men involved 40-60 years of age.

                      - 5 permanent members of the U.N. Security Council
                        all agreed that SaddaLm has until 15 Jan to leave
                        Kuwait and the use of Military force.

                      - Mr. John Mayor new Prime Minister of England.

                        BBC reports the-,remaining forces brought in for
                        Operation Just @ause will be withdrawn by end of
                        week.

                  GI  - Division strength no change

                      - 78,000 (+) lbs of mail received

                      - Phone use last 24 hours 857

                      - Do riot brief newspaper slides
                 PAO -  2 Dec JIB @our to AVN BDE to observe night
                        operations.
