          L. You are beina provided the following pieces of equipment-
          Most are intended to prevent you from dying or from becoming
          severely, perhaps permanently ill from diseases prevalent where
          you are going.  While these may not look as important to you as
          your weapon, proper, consistent use will truly, for real, help
          you  return home well- They work.

               2 tubes of new DEET creme - for skin
               2 bottles Sunscreen - for skin
               I can Permethrin aerosol - for mosquito nettinq.and beddina
               2 NAPP blister packs - for usp-only when command directed
               3 3 Mark-I - Nerve Agent Antidote kits
               2 M-258 - Decontamination Kits


          2. Water and Food Threat-.

               Water, ice and food available from the economy is almost
          uniformly contaminated with bacteria, viruses, and parasites to
          which you have no immunity. Typhoid fever and intestinal
          parasites are common. DO NOT USE LOCAL WATER OR FOOD! USE ONLY
          U.S. MILITARY WRIER SOURCES AND MAKE SURE IT IS HIGHLY
          C14LORINATED (5-10 PARTS PER MILLION) DO NOT add Gatorade -like
          or- l(oolaid-lik@ flavoring p.Acitf.-ts as the idditives contained
          will inactivate the usually protective levels of chlorine. The
          residual chlorine MUST be kept hiah.

          3- Insect, Spider, Scorpion, and Snake Threats-.

Sand Fly. This small insect can fly
          through unprotected mosquito netting. The Sand Fly carries maiiv
          diseases that are truly awful but the ones most common in this
          operation carry primarily Leishmaniasis and Sand Fly Fever.
          Sand Fly Fever will make you extremely ill and combat
          ineffective. These flies are attracted by unsanitary latrines,
          urine or fecal waste around your encampment, and foo@ - as wel.1
          as your body.
