            FRAGO 7-91 to 7th Engr Ede OPLAN 5-90


                     (1)       Maneuver. 7th Engr Bde defends and retains BP
            NIXON as part of the IID defense. Additional maneuver units are
            deployed as they become available to the Brigade.

                     (2)       Fires. Initially, none are available during
            the 1ID defense. Upon closure of 1 ID DIVARTY, GS or reinforcing
            fires will be available to the Brigade.

                     (3)       Counterair. Primary means is defensive fighter
            aircraft. TF B-43 will provide HIMAD support using HAWI@ and
            PATRIOT units near LOGBASE ALPA.


                     (4) (U) Engineer.

                          (a)       Priority of support is to ICD, 2ACII, and
            1AD.

                          (b)       Priority of effort is to counterrftobility,
            survivability, and mobility.

                C. (U) 176 Engr Gp.

                     (1)       Defend and retain BP NIXON from BPI and 2.
            Priority of effort is obstacle zone; AA, AD, and AC, and
            survivability positions in BP2 and BPI.

                     (2)       Block TAPLINE ROAD using earth berms or similar
            techniques. Avoid damaging pavement to the extent that
            substantial  repair would be required, so that it may be
            reestablished as a MSR easily.

                     (3)       Develop counter mobility obstacle system
            astride of Tapline road in designated belts to channelize Iraqi
            units North, and block penetration of BP Nixon.

                     (4)       On order deploy fire fighter detachments to
            LOGBASE ALPHA, priority TPT and ASP locations.

                     (5)       On order, provide IID with tank
            ditch/survivability teams.

                     (6)       On order, transfer control of defense of BP
            Nixon to Bde.
