                     (2)        1AD is Corps reserve. On order, attaches one
             tank company to IID to portray the deception story.

                     (3)        1CD, on order, defends the key facilities at AL
             QAYSUMAH, XKMC, and LOGEASE BRAVO.

                     (4)        2ACR, on order, screens to the north and
             defends to the east of TAA ROOSEVELT, and is prepared to become
             OPCON to IID for the local defense of LOGBASE ALFA.


                     (5)        COSCOM, on order, attached forces at LOGBASE
             ALFA for the purpose of ground defense.

                 C.  (U) Attachments and Detachments. None.


                 d.  (U)  Assumptions.

                     (1)  (U) Fire support and additional tank killing
             systems are not available initially,

                     (2) (U) Pipelines are considered denial targets.

             2.       MISSION.

                 On order, 7th Engineer Brigade provides countermobility and
             survivability support to VII Corps in its defense in sector to
             defeat Iraqi Corps sized attack north of PL IRON. On order,
             defends to retain BP NIXON to protect LOGBASE ALFA.

             3. (U) EXECUTION.


                 a.       Coinmander's Intent. Block and IZ attack and deflect
             it to the north where it can be defeated by direct fire and CAS.
             Preserve the force for future operations. Make maximum use of
             expedient obscurant and thermal signature devices for defeat of
             thermal gights.

                 b. @     Concept of the operation. Initially 7th Engr Bde
                 will conduct Base cluster defense against level II threat-
             Should IZ forces penetrate the ARAB Corps, 7th Engr Bde (-) on
             order becomes OPCON to IID occupies Battle positions and defends
veloped
             in depth to channelize attacking forces to the North and block
             penetration of BP Nixon. The 82d and 317th Engr Ens provide
             countermobility and survivability support to the 2ACR and 1CD
             respectively as they establish their defenses. The gth Engr Bn
             provides mobility support to IAD during its counterattacks.
