   MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

   SUBJECT: XVIII Abn Corps Mini-Wargames BINGO Concupt and
   Milestones


   1. (U) PURPOSE: To outline milestones and concept for the
   conduct of XVRII Abn Corps miniwargames BINGO, 22 Oct-31 Jan          90.
   2.   @ GENERAL: XVIII Abn Corps conducts a series of
   miniwarg'ames, commencing '.2 Oct, to refine and synchronize the
   Corps concept of operations for OPLAN DESERT SHIELD 1.

   15. tu) CONCEPT:

        a. (U) Objectives of tne Corp@ a,iniwzsrgames BINGO-.

               (1)       Check synchronization a+ the Corps concept of
   operations (corps to brigade levels).

               (2)       Evaluate plans based upon wargame results.

               (3)       Determine and check plans revisions.

               (4)       Identify and develop branches/sequels.

        b. (U) The outcome of the miniwargames BINGO will be the
   develc)pment/refinement of one or more a-F the following products:

               (1) (U) Synchronization matrix (subparts of function
   or phase).

               (2) (U) Execution matri:. (subl!nit tasl,,s).

               (3) (U) CONPI-AN for brarrh to the operation.

               (4) (U) DeC2Sl@.n support template.

        C.   (U)  Each miniwargames BINGO session will take       3-EL rmurz
   and will support the gaining cycle below;

               ('I) (U)  Brief the plan and synchronization
   requirements.

               (2) (U) Wargame the plan (computer assisted.i-F
   possible; MAPEXI or alternate method).       (1-F computer--- assi.7sted@   Er            Z-
   BCTP runs the   plan and provides results at the rrext: groups
   meeting.)

               (3) (U) Provide the results of     the wargaine..-
