4. (U) TITLE: SUMMARY - Phase I - Defense Reutilization and
Marketing Office Fort Riley
5. (U) EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR DEFENSE REUTILIZATION AND MARKETING
OFFICE FORT RILEY:
a. The Defense ReLitilization and Marketing Office was on
call to assist in the deployment of the Ist Infantry Division.
This office lifted the tltrn-in procedures to allow the departing
units to turn in as much property as often as possible.
Additionally, the requirement +or typed documents was lifted.
As the deployment quickened, the requirement for paperwork was
lifted on items to avoid property being taken to the sanitary
landfill or dumped in ditches and ravines. These items were
placed in a holding area until there was time to classify and
receive them into the system. This office assisted units in
making the tltrn-in of equipment as easy as possible to expedite
the deployment of troops.
b. Conclusion: Many personnel were officially recognized
-For their assistance during the deployment who, in our
estimation, were not deserving while people who deserved
recognition were not recognized. The Defense Reutilization and
Marketing Office wants to recognize Cindy Gallant who assisted
us tremendously.
