            4. (U) TITLE: SUMMARY - Phase I - Readiness Group Fort Riley


            5. (U) EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR READINESS GROUP, FORT RILEY

                 a. The Readiness Group provided mobilization assistance to
            18 units deployed to Southwest Asia and to 2 units deployed to
            Europe. The Mobilization Assistance Team (MAT) mission was
            accomplished in four phases: the alert and mobilization at
            homestation; the inprocessing at mobilization station; the
            preparation for deployment; and validation. The Readiness Group
            liaison functions with Fifth Army, the RC units' peacetime
            headquarters, and the Fort Riley installation staff
            significantly enhanced the timely deployment of mobilized RC
            units.

                 b. The 200K Presidential call-up and subsequent partial
            mobilization required 25 to 50 percent of Readiness Group
            assigned personnel to be directly involved in the MAT mission at
            any given time. Assistance provided to the mobilizing units
            -Follows:

                          (1) Alert and mobilization at Home station phase.

                                  (a) Dispatched Personnel, Finance, and
            Logistics teams to the unit to assist with personnel actions and
            movement of equipment and personnel to the mobilization station.

                                  (b) Provided an in-Formation package and latest
            information relevant to units' mission.

) Made early assessment of the units training
            status and unit readiness.

                                  (d) Acted as liaison between the unit and the
            mobilization station.

                          (2) Inprocessing at the mobilization station phase.

                                  (a) Identified units' training requirements.

                                  (b) Prepared and coordinated training
            schedules.

                                  (c) Identified MOS qualification and new
